Greetings and welcome!

The Hermit is nominally level 20, ranger bufffed with a damage shield. So,
take a pumice stone along to de-buff him fo rthe first encounter. After
that, you can agro him early and he will fight before completin g his buff
cycle. He fights pretty hard and sometimes usues fine steel weapons. I was
never much of a solo artist at your age but spent hours there with 1 or 2
partners. You can prolly find blue aviaks and centaurs in south karaana
too. Also, you may want to look at the gnoll camp just past the zone into
Lake Rathe - at night when the skells are spawned. Cant help you with the
gargoyles - never seen em.
