Nope. They have to check that area to see that it isn't over another player
or npc for example or it becomes a give, not a drop. Now if they made the
flag No Drop/No give, maybe it would work, but otherwise I would imagine it
is more complicated than you are presenting. Just like on the boats you
cannot drop or give objects away. Both things are eliminated not just one
so likely they are interconnected. Once you get that cursor over a moving
environment there is a lot more going on than just a simple button action.

Button or not, it is still a computation of a mouse click. You click
destroy button item gets destroyed. You click an area item gets
dropped. I still think that it is just as simple as the destroy
thing.
