Several months ago a patch went in to give bards with magical gloves and
instruments the ability to inflict hand to hand damage to creatures that
require magical weapons to hit. IIRC, in the same patch the mino horn was
reclassified as a magical instrument strictly for this purpose. I don't
recall ever reading a post on this list where someone had tested and
confirmed that the mino horn gave a 15% bonus. Did I miss out on that?
Also, IIRC, in his GZ Answers column on bards, GZ stated that using a wind
instrument does not increase the chances of getting a charm/pixie strike to
stick. Nor does it increase the duration of the effect. The only bonus of
equipping a wind instrument is that the MR debuff from Pixie will be higher.
This is all from memory so someone correct me if I'm wrong.
If a mino horn does indeed increase the effects of wind songs by 15%, then
it sure would be nice if it provided enough bonus to Carillon to make us
non-KOS in evil cities. If it doesn't then I can see no other benefit the
extra 15% will provide other than a little extra (1-2 pts) MR debuff with
Pixie. It would also make sense if a magic wind instrument increased your
chances of getting charm/pixie to stick. Probably wishful thinking on that
one.

Good question - what gets 15% better?
The only wind based song that I know that shows a difference with an
instrument is Charillion - has someone quantified the effect with this song?
15% more air under water?
15% more invisible?
15% further away with shadow step? - hmm possible
15% better see invis?
15% better charms & pixie strikes? Is there a longer duration with
intrument?
15% higher levitation? possible i guess
15% better bind sight?
And the expansion ones - we don seem to even know what they do.
