Dr. Jordan holds a PhD in Human Computer Interaction. She teaches programming, HCI, and cybersecurity courses at the Electrical and Computer Engineering and Computer Science Department at Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico. Dr. Jordan has extensive experience in promoting undergraduate research as a way to increase persistence and a sense of self-efficacy. She founded GuardDV, Inc. in 2018, a company devoted to create solutions for increasing the safety of survivors of domestic violence. Her research in this area has been recognized with multiple awards. Dr. Jordan has published research on social media and technology for survivors of domestic violence, and collaborated in the creation of embodied social presence theory. She has worked on brain computer interfaces and her research agenda includes computing education, accessibility, cybersecurity, and the technology gap.
