| Shun-Yun Hu (胡舜元) has been researching on how to create million-scale virtual world systems using peer-to-peer (P2P) techniques since 2003. His works are publicly available as the SourceForge projects VAST (https://vast.sourceforge.net) and ASCEND (https://ascend.sourceforge.net). To promote the understanding of scalable peer-to-peer virtual environments, he also co-organized the Massively Multiuser Virtual Environments (MMVE) workshop in 2008 and 2009 (https://peers-at-play.org/MMVE09/). He was inspired by Sierra adventure games at the age of 7 and has been fascinated by the possibilities of virtual worlds ever since. He received his Ph.D in Computer Science from National Central University, Taiwan in 2009. | |
