Mod ideas for UT 2003 – Meteor Shower

Description

This map component adds a meteor shower to a map. The component should come in two forms. One form should be a purely client side modification - when a map needs to give the impression of a meteor shower but players cannot interact with the shower in any way. The other form should be one that involves additional network overhead as it is possible for players to be killed by the falling meteors.

If you are interested in developing this mod for UT2003 then add your name to the list. Once you start development you should indicate that below (and hopefully include a link to a journal page). Before you start development you should also check this section to see if anyone else has started.

Discussion

ZxAnPhOrIaN: To be astronomically and physically (spelling?) correct, the meteors should shrink in size while burning up in the atmosphere. It also should break apart and spawn another meteor also! ;)

Daid303: I don't think this is easy to create with just a mod, custom maps with meteors would be much nicer. EDIT: Oh, it in the mapitems section, sorry ;)

Postal: I have some code for UT that makes these very cool looking fireballs. If someone wanted to port those to UT2k3, those could make a nice meteor. It could also be easy to make it grow smaller with time.
