The Plate Cutting Machine is an early-mid tier Electric Gregtech machine that is used to make Plates out of compressed material storage blocks. It consumes up to 30EU/t with its various recipes, but its primary use is converting Blocks to Plates at a 9 to 1 ratio (special exceptions to this include glowstone, which gives 4 plates, and granite, which gives 1 plate). This machine seen as an upgrade to the Plate Bending Machine, although they both have unique recipes.
The Plate Cutting Machine has a larger initial cost than the Plate Bending Machine in terms of energy, time and materials, cutting entire storage blocks at a time into nine plates, but the end result is less time and energy taken per plate. It is also able to make plates from gems, and from Red and Black Granite.

It has a secondary use, whereby processing a log will output 4 of that log's wooden planks. This means that the Plate Cutting Machine functions as a mid game saw, allowing the full 4 plank output (Note: this does not apply with sticks, that must be done in a Lathe).
Also, it can cut Glass into Glass Panes, Plates into Item Casings, Rods into Bolts, and can be used to make GT credits and Doge Coins.
