Major
General Thomas J. Plewes, USA, currently serves as Commander, United States Army
Reserve Command (USARC); Chief, Army Reserve; and Deputy Commanding General for Reserve
Affairs, Forces Command. Prior to assuming his present assignments in May, 1998, he
was the USARC Deputy Commanding General. MG Plewes was born in Zeeland,
Michigan. He graduated from Hope College, Holland, Michigan, with a bachelors Degree
in Economics, and received a Masters Degree in Economics from the George Washington
University.
Major General Craig Bambrough,
Deputy Commanding General of the U.S. Army Reserve Command (USARC), is a native of Ogden,
Utah. Bambrough has more than 31 years of service and was commissioned in 1967. He is a
graduate of the University of California with a bachelor's degree in business
administration and of St. Mary's College where he earned a master of business
administration degree.
Major General George W. Goldsmith Jr.
assumed his present position as Deputy Commanding General (IMA) of the United States Army
Reserve Command (USARC) and Commander, United States Army Reserve Readiness Command in
June 1999. A native of Greenville, South Carolina, Goldsmith has more than 35 years of
service and was commissioned in 1961 after graduating from The Citadel in Charleston,
South Carolina.
Brigadier
General Mitchell M. Zais, Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army Reserve Command (USARC), is
a native of Fayetteville, N.C. Zais has more than 29 years of service and was commissioned
in 1969 after graduating from the U.S. Military Academy, West Point.
