The Internet is an ever expanding network of information. Currently, the Internet has
more than 30 million users worldwide, and that number is growing. More that 100
countries are linked to the web. These pages provide guidelines and board
policies adopted for the use of the Internet in Coweta County classrooms and media
centers.

What is the Internet?
The Internet refers to the global information system that:
 | is logically linked together by a globally unique address space based on the Internet
Protocol (IP) or its subsequent extensions. |
 | is able to support communication using the Transmission Control Protocol/Internet
Protocol (TCP/IP) suite or its subsequent extensions. |
 | provides, uses or makes accessible, either publicly or privately, high level services
layered on the communications and related infrastructure . |
