ERIC Bibliographic Database

The ERIC Search Wizard guides you with ease through a sophisticated search strategy for searching the ERIC bibliographic database.
ERIC's Personal Librarian Turbo-search option is one of the best ERIC search engines on the Web and includes the entire database back to 1966.

Test Locator contains records on more than 10,000 tests and research instruments.
Lesson Plans for Teachers contains more than 1,000 unique lesson plans which have been written and submitted by teachers from all over the United States.
National Parent Information Network (NPIN) provides information to parents and those who work with parents and fosters the exchange of parenting materials.
Gateway to Educational Materials (GEM) provides one-stop, any-stop access to high quality Internet lesson plans, curriculum units, and other education resources.

CD-ROM Options for Searching ERIC

In an innovative partnership with the private sector, ERIC now offers a CD-ROM version of the database that almost any school, and even individuals, can afford. This version of the database--the NISC DISC--is powerful and easy to use. You can purchase a yearly subscription (four updates) for $100. The current disk covers the education literature from 1985 to the present. The archival disk covers 1966-1984 and is separately available.

By the way, Ready References give a lot of detail about ERIC's structure and history. Check them out if you search the database frequently, or if you are teaching a class on research.
