ITN

ITN has launched the world's first multi-media news channel available to a potential audience of 12 million viewers. The channel offers a continuous all-news service supported by interactivity giving viewers the opportunity to catch up with the latest news and information online, through the ITN website, or via their TV. ITN provides news to the three UK commercial networks, is the operator of two television channels, three radio stations and international documentary and archive businesses. ITN is an international multi-media organisation tuned into each week by more than 80% of the British population - as well as millions more across Europe and the US.

Television news

From its London headquarters ITN provides news programming and news services to every commercial television channel in the UK - ITV, GMTV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 - as well as supplying UK news and facilities to Reuters.

Radio

ITN also operates two of London's most popular radio stations - LBC 1152AM and News Direct 97.3FM - and supplies news to the nationwide Independent Radio News network, which has a weekly audience reach of 28 million alone.

New Media

ITN is a leading producer of New Media, enabling audiences to stay in touch with news events wherever they are. The ITN website is the country's most successful commercial news site and provides content and services to third party platforms including interactive digital television. ITN was the first news organisation in the world to deliver its own news service on WAP enabled mobile phones and it also supplies news on PDA's (personal digital assistants) and high speed ADSL (broadband) services.

ITN Archive

ITN's business successes also include ITN Archive, one of the largest commercial archives in the world with offices in London and New York, and ITN Factual and its subsidiary Visual Voodoo which produce documentary programmes for UK and foreign television.

International

On the international front ITN operates the highly successful pan-European TV news channel EuroNews, based in Lyon, which is available to 100 million people in 43 countries. It also produces the daily programme World News for Public Television for the American market where it can be seen by half of all US households.

ITN News Channel

In an important step forward, 1st August 2000 saw the launch of the ITN News Channel, the 24-hour ITN-branded news service available across all major platforms - television, video, audio and text. From then on the organisation moved from being a supplier of news to a news broadcaster in its own right for the first time in its 45-year history.
