CAN (Controller Area Network) is a serial bus network medium-access layer protocol. CiA (CAN in Automation) is a nonprofit international group that develops CAN-based higher-layer protocols, including several dedicated device profiles for medical devices and healthcare equipment such as X-ray collimator (CiA 412-2) and measurement systems (CiA 412-6).
