END OF FOUNDATIONS REFLECTIONS

"I've said this before, and I'll say it again: The most important thing is to be patient with yourself. Be kind with yourself, take breaks away from the computer screen when you need to, move your body, do a little bit of exercise... When you feel yourself getting too frustrated, remember that this stuff is hard, and that you're not stupid, it's just tricky getting this stuff into your head when it first starts happening; when you first start getting your head around these big concepts, it's hard. So, be patient with yourself."

"Coding is literally a list of step-by-step instructions that you are giving a computer. Saying: do this, and if this, then do that. Math, while useful, is totally not essential. You don't need to be a math genuis to get into coding. In fact, I would compare it more to learning a language. By learning languages such as Javascript, you are teaching your brain to work in a completely different way than what you are used to. It might seem unnatural at first, but once you get it, and something clicks, it's just like riding a bike. No wonder it's called a programming language. Algorithims come next. But even they aren't as scary as you think! You've probably used a bunch without even realising. The linear search algorithm for example is something that you can use daily.
