The Output Search page enables you to identify and action messages that have left Rhapsody via an output communication point:

Generating Search Results

Search results will only contain messages that match your search criteria and were received on input communication points in lockers where you have the 'Search message queues' access right.

You can use the following search criteria to define the scope of your search:

Field

Description

Timeframe

Select From / To or Show Last to display messages within a certain time period.

If From / To is selected:

  • In the From field, enter the date and time to start the search from (set to one hour before the current time by default).
  • In the To field, enter the date and time to end the search at.

If Show Last is selected, enter the preceding time period that you want to search. Either select mins, hours, days, weeks or months from the drop-down list, or click on one of the time links (10min, 1h, 24h).

Search Order

Sorts search results by time in either Ascending or Descending order.

Sent From

Show only messages that were sent by the output components you have selected.

In the Select Components dialog, you can filter the component list based on the component names using a regular expression. The Management Console supports Java Regex. The following characters, which are allowed in component names, must be prepended with a backslash in order to be used as special characters in the regular expression: "." (period), "+" (plus), "(" (open parenthesis), ")" (close parenthesis), "^" (caret).

Sent State

Refines the Sent From criteria and shows only messages from the component that have:

  • Succeeded - messages that have been sent successfully.
  • Failed - messages that have failed and were further processed through the error output connector (refer to Advanced Routing for details).
  • All - shows both succeeded and failed messages.
Routes

Show only messages that passed through these routes.

Received By

Show only messages that were received by the input components you have selected.

In the Select Components dialog, you can filter the component list based on the component names using a regular expression. The Management Console supports Java Regex. Tracking State

Search by Message Tracking state. Options include:

  • All messages - search for all messages.
  • All tracked messages - search for all tracked messages.
  • Messages with responses - search for all tracked messages that have responses.
  • All not positively acknowledged - search for all tracked messages that have not been positively acknowledged.
  • Positive acknowledgment - search for all tracked messages that have a positive acknowledgment.
  • Negative acknowledgment - search for all tracked messages that have not been positively acknowledged. Returns messages with a tracking status of Negative acknowledgment, Awaiting reply, Error response, Unknown response, Unsolicited response, Timed out, Canceled, and Error occurred.
  • Awaiting Reply - search for all tracked messages awaiting a reply.
  • Timed out - search for messages with a message tracking status of Timed out.
  • Unknown response - search for messages with a message tracking status of Unknown response.
  • Error response - search for messages with a message tracking status of Error response.
  • Unsolicited response - search for messages with a message tracking status of Unsolicited response received.
  • Canceled - search for messages with a message tracking status of Canceled.
  • Error occurred - search for messages with a message tracking status of Error occurred.

Input Time

Select From / To or Show Last to display messages that arrived at Rhapsody within a certain time period.

If From / To is selected:

  • In the From field, enter the date and time to start the search from (set to one hour before the current time by default).
  • In the To field, enter the date and time to end the search at.

If Show Last is selected, enter the preceding time period that you want to search. Either select mins, hours, days, weeks or months from the drop-down list, or click on one of the time links (10min, 1h, 24h).

Message Contains

Search for a text string. Enter your expression and then select either Case-Sensitive, Ignore Case or Regular Expression (the Management Console supports Java Regex).

Caution should be exercised when using the Message Contains search option. This is a full-text search which results in a search over the entire set of stored messages. The time taken to perform a search is proportional to the number of stored messages. To ensure fast searches, filter your search by specifying the communication point on which the message was received or by specifying the date range in which the message was received.

Access to this search criterion is controlled by the 'Perform full text searches' access right.

You can perform the following actions to search output messages:

Search

Click the Search button to initiate a search.

Your recent searches can be retrieved from the Recent Results page.

Reset

Click the Reset link to discard your search criteria.

Reload

Click the Reload link to reload a search query.

Save

Select the Save icon to save your search. You can view and manage your saved searches from the Saved Searches page.

Select Saved Search

Select a saved search (if one is available) from the Select Saved Search drop-down list.

Search Options

Click the Search Options link to select or deselect optional search criteria in the Search Options drop-down list.

Indexed message properties appear as selectable options in Search Options to allow for fast lookups against pre-configured properties.

Performing a search using indexed message properties that takes a long time may reduce the performance of output communication points on routes with indexed message properties.

Show/Hide Click the Show or Hide link to show or hide the optional search fields.

Viewing Search Results

Search results are displayed as a list of search entries in a table with the following columns:

  • Time
  • Sent From
  • Sent State
  • Input Time
  • Received By
  • Locker
  • Tracking State
  • Message Identifier
  • Error Details

Managing Search Results

You can perform the following action to manage your search results:

Action

Description

Save Search

Select the icon to save the search criteria so you can easily re-run a search. To save the search result, enter a name for your saved search in the input text field and select the icon. The saved search can then be selected from the Select Saved Search drop-down list or the Saved Searches page.

Quick Filter

Click the Quick Filter link to display the Filtering Bar to filter the search results.

Configure Columns

Select the Configure icon to configure the columns for the table.

Filtering Search Results

To filter the search table using text criteria on a per column basis on the displayed page:

  1. Click the Quick Filter link to display the Filtering Bar:


  2. Enter your filtering term in the Filtering Bar field for the column you wish to filter the search results against.
  3. Press the Enter key to filter the search results, or select  to cancel the filtering and close the Filtering Bar.

Only the page currently displayed is filtered.

Configuring Columns

To configure which columns to display in the search table, select the Add icon  to display the Display Column dialog:

  • Select the columns you want to be displayed in the search table.
  • Deselect the columns you want to be hidden in the search table.

Fields that are greyed out are required fields, and cannot be hidden.

Sorting by Column

To sort a table by column (only the page currently displayed is sorted):

  • Click the column's heading name.
  • Re-click the column's heading name to toggle between ascending and descending order, denoted by theandicons, respectively.

Viewing Search Entry Details

Click any entry in the results list to display the Message View page (or Ctrl-click to display the page in a new tab).

Managing Search Entries

You can perform the following actions to manage output messages :

Description

Reinject

Select one or more messages, and click the Reinject button to reinject the message into the Rhapsody engine at its original point of entry.

Redirect Copy

Select one or more messages, and click the Redirect Copy button to redirect a copy of the message to a filter or communication point. You are prompted to select the component to which you want to redirect the message.

Resend

Select one or more messages, and click the Resend button to resend the message. You are prompted to confirm you want to resend the message.

Download

Select one or more messages, and click the Download button to download the messages as a compressed file.

Alternatively, to download all the messages in the search, click the Download All link.

Cancel Tracking Select one or more messages, and click the Cancel Tracking button to perform a bulk cancel action on the live tracked messages.

All message actions have respective user access rights, which must be set for the locker containing the message.

You cannot perform a Reinject, Redirect Copy, Resend or Download action on messages that have no message body (as a result of being stored in the Secondary Body Store and deleted by Archive Cleanup).
