1. What were your most memorable moments at IIT? Could you describe any moments when you felt low at IIT and what you did to get back to normal?

Now that I look back, each and every moment seems memorable. However, the ones that I most vividly remember are those spent with friends hanging out at wind-T, talking and discussing anything and everything.
There had been several lows, from getting dengue, to performing much below my expectations but a few things helped me get through. I am very close to my parents and share everything with them. I guess having someone to confide in really helps. Another thing that was helpful was reading.

2.Do you have any regrets from your time in IIT?

Yeah….I should have had more fun during my first two years.

3.How was your overall experience at IIT?

Overall, IIT was a great experience. It teaches you so many things beyond acads, you get to meet different people, to witness and absorb the diversity of thoughts and cultures.

4. What changes did you notice in your personality before and after IIT?

It has changed me a lot and in a very good away. From being an extremely introvert, rigid and serious person to someone who can easily talk, let go and have fun, I have come a long way.

5. What things did you learn in IIT that helped a lot in the years after graduating?

IITs make you flexible and accommodating. It’s because of my experiences at IIT that I find myself more accepting to new people, situations.
Besides, IIT takes your self esteem and confidence to a whole new level. No matter how difficult the situation is, I know I can get through it

6. How has your life changed after graduating from IIT and how do you feel about this change?

Life has changed is a lot of ways. It’s only after graduating from IIT that you realize how easy life at IIT is. The challenges now are different, especially now that I am part of a corporate culture and that too in a different country; I am learning their ways and norms. The most drastic difference for me is the presence of structures and a very organized framework which is very different from the freedom we are used to at IIT.

7. What activities were you involved in and how have they helped you?

I was involved in a lot of social work. I was a core team member of An Initiative for National Advancement (AINA), as part of which we went for teaching kids at munirka, organized events there. We also had weekly discussions on various sociopolitical issues.

8. What words of advice would you give to your juniors- some things that they should do, some changes in the way of thinking, etc. ?

Try out new things.. be open… And understand that all of us are different, find out what your strengths and weaknesses are…just enjoy IIT life to the fullest.

9. What are some things that you would advise juniors not to do?

I guess everyone needs to figure this out on his/her own.
P.S.- As long as you get a degree after 4 years you are fine

10. Have you found what you love (your passion)? Many people face a dilemma over “what is that they would love to do in life”. Anything on this issue?

I know what I want in life, though, I am still figuring out how to get there. Well, I would say try out things, talk to people, it comes easily to some but not to most of us and the best way is to experience diverse things.
