Student Ambassador Program

Are volunteer Ambassadors/Representatives of MAHQ, not representatives of their respective academic institutions.


Are required to comply strictly with the MAHQ Code of Conduct and Student Ambassador’s duties and responsibilities, as well as adhere to the applicable academic institution’s Code of Student Conduct, campus and MAHQ rules, regulations, and requirements, and all applicable laws.


Act as liaisons between MAHQ and the administration, faculty and students of the academic institutions they attend.


Serve as conduits for providing MAHQ quality improvement information and educational opportunities to program directors and individual course professors.


Serve as resource personnel for various school programs’ student organizations.


Coordinate requests from student organizations and professors for MAHQ speakers or personnel to appear at school events or class sessions.


Monitor and transmit the needs and/or suggestions of MAHQ student members on their campuses to appropriate MAHQ Committees or the Board of Directors.


Serve as a resource for students regarding MAHQ as an organization, about healthcare quality improvement in the spectrum of fields as a career path, and information about the Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ®) credential.


Serve on the MAHQ Education Committee, and may apply to serve on other MAHQ Committees/Subcommittees as well (academic workload, grades, employment, and other commitments are taken into consideration upon review of applications for additional Committee appointments).


May apply, and if selected, serve as Student Concierges at the MAHQ Annual Conference, attending the full conference for free (also open to student members who serve on MAHQ Committees/Subcommittees). Limited Student Concierge positions are available.


Will receive a certificate of commendation and letter of reference upon successful completion of their terms as a Student Ambassadors.


Will serve a two-year term (with the exception of undergraduate seniors, or graduate/professional students, or if other special circumstances apply – contact the Communications Committee Chairperson to discuss).


Students interested in applying for an open Student Ambassador position should complete the Student Ambassador Application Form and return it to the Chairperson of the Communications Committee at communications.MAHQ@gmail.com
