Lindsay Hetherington

Lindsay is currently a Junior at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI who is projected to graduate May of 2021. She is originally from Chicago, Illinois, but has moved to Michigan to continue her education in Health Information Management. She is currently employed as a Medical Administrative Assistant at Hulst Jepsen Physical Therapy located in East Grand Rapids, MI. Lindsay is a also a member of Grand Valley’s Health Information Management Society (HIMS) and is a Student Ambassador for MAHQ. After graduation, she would like to work in the HIM department while obtaining her Masters in Health Administration. Someday, she hopes to pursue a career as a Director of the HIM Department.

Kim Jermanus, BS

Kim is currently enrolled in the Health Information Technology (HIT) program at Schoolcraft College. She will be graduating from the program in May 2020. Kim has professional experience as a HEDIS scheduler through the Henry Ford Health System. Kim is a member of the Health Information Technology (HIT) Club at Schoolcraft College. After graduation, she will be eligible for her #RHIT credential and is interested in obtaining her CPHQ credential as well. She hopes to secure a position where she can focus on Healthcare Quality initiatives and collaboratives. She is interested in abstracting data related to clinical quality performance improvement measures.

Kim Jermanus

Shannon Goulet, BS

Shannon has worked her whole career at Michigan Medicine as a respiratory therapist where she spent the last 13 years as a shift supervisor. She received her bachelor’s degree in Health Policy Administration from the University of Michigan – Dearborn in 2016. Currently, she is a full-time student at the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor as a candidate for a Master of Health Informatics. Shannon’s passion for quality and patient safety began at work and blossomed over time. Her goal is to obtain her CPHQ and CPPS credentials next summer. Shannon was also recently nominated and elected to the School of Public Health Student Assembly (PHSA) as the Professional Development Chair. She will be aiding the set up for new speakers and opportunities for students to learn various leadership skills!

Shannon Goulet
Ejike Anusiem, BS

Ejike is a Master of Health Informatics student at the University of Michigan focusing on consumer health, web development, mobile application development, user experience design and research, and healthcare data management and analytics. He graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science in 2018 where he studied Health Promotion and Disease Prevention.
He currently works as a Student Intern for the Michigan Program on Value Enhancement, which is a collaboration between the Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation and Michigan Medicine designed to identify, design, and rigorously and rapidly evaluate specific projects focused on improving quality and demonstrating the value of clinical services at Michigan Medicine. In this role, he conducts literature searches on various health topics, performs data cleaning and analysis to facilitate descriptive analytics using R and Python, develops dynamic visualizations and dashboards in Tableau, creates interview guides, and conducts qualitative interviews with healthcare professionals.
This summer he will be working as a User Experience Design and Research, Data Analyst, and Business Analyst Intern for the Michigan Medicine Quality Department, Data Management Team, and Customer Performance Metrics and Improvement Team where he will be working on five multi-faceted projects that will revolutionize healthcare for multiple departments across Michigan Medicine.
