Experimental safety is a worldwide concern, only by ensuring the safety of their own lives and health can researchers devote themselves to scientific research without distraction and achieve a series of good results. Our team, NNU-CHINA, puts the safety of laboratory and experimental operation in the first place, and every member of the team takes the practice of safety regulations as a habit.
We have always had a strict code of laboratory safety, equipped with many emergency devices, such as emergency medical kits, emergency showers, eye baths, etc. We are equipped with these devices not just for show, but practically teach each member to learn how to use them. We send a representative to conduct safety inspections every day, taking photos of any non-compliance with safety norms and urging timely correction. Teachers also make regular visits to check for safety hazards. For waste disposal, we follow a strict process whereby all discarded bacteria-carrying materials are autoclaved. For hazardous substances such as ethylene bromide, we open a special lab area for contamination experiments and clean up and disinfect regularly.
We used RRform whitelisted E. coli DH5α and E. coli BL21 (DE3) for targeted saturation mutagenesis of the esterases BSLA and BsEst, and the experimental procedure did not produce substances that affected the action of the dual selection system.
Every student must be professionally trained and pass a theoretical examination before entering the laboratory to do experiments, and the use of instruments is guided by professional teachers. Students wear protective measures such as masks and lab coats throughout the experimental process, and must ensure strict aseptic procedures when using the ultra-clean bench, using alcohol lamps and disinfecting with alcohol in a timely manner.
