Here is a useful thread for this plug-in. I tend to post development snapshots there and discuss features etc. Also, some users there may have answers regarding Linux setup etc.

Hello
has anyone got this working in ubuntu at all?
I'm using xubuntu but it should be the same as ubuntu for setting this up.
I tried placing the python file in the python folder /usr/lib/gimp/2.0/python/
and the plugin into /usr/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins/
I made them executable also (linux thing) but no go.
I have python 2.7 would this make a difference?
I also tried putting them into the .gimp-2.8 folder in the home folder but no go their either.
Please let me know if anyone got this working on linux with gimp 2.8 so I can use this, I kinda wanting to check this out because this one and the spiro one looks good but especially for this one, it does nothing but crash on me, which might be because of python 2.7 just not sure.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Sam

It doesn't work for me. No dialog box appears. The spiro one does work. I'm using GIMP 2.8 on 64-bit Windows 7.

I got it working after I put formula_viewer.pyw in the GIMP python folder. The readme implied it was optional.

It should be optional, I have no idea why some users cannot get it to run without the formula viewer. By the way, I have Windows only, so cannot help anyone on Linux etc.

You have to manually close it each time (after OK, it still is up). No big deal to press the x button but still that is my only other assemblance of a complaint. The result your cool plugin far outweighs this very small issue and thanks again for it. :)

I had that same problem B&P; to me there's no big deal to copy the pre-viewer into the appropriate python folder. Still, you would think it would not be necessary, but you would be wrong (at least for Window's users I suspect). :)

OK; it works in both 2.6.12 (yes, I still have it installed; lol) and 2.8 64-bit but the path for the pyw file is C:\Program Files\GIMP 2.8\32\lib\gimp\2.0\python for 64-bit GIMP (might not be GIMP 2.8; I did a custome install. Your's might actually be GIMP 2). I wish there was a sub directory in user profile gimp directory (.gimp2.8) to put this in but don't believe there is. :)

Thanks B-and-P; been waiting for this one and am about to download it now and hope it will work in 64-bit GIMP. :)

Seems to work fine. :) - i didn't test it Parthas portable but he includes python out of the box so it should in theory work just as well.

B and P would you consider adding a save preset or save formula functionality to the filter?

Thanks for another great vector filter.
