Is content created using this plugin free to use commercially? (Referring to Normal Maps)

Are there any restrictions on use, most notably commercial, as long as credit is given? I might be missing it, but I see no indications in the readme or in the forum post either way although I assume that the answer would be yes because Gimp is open source. Anyways, is this under the same GNU license as Gimp?
