Hello everybody!
So I downloaded GIMP 2.8, but a version that was loaded with lots of scripts and plugins. I recently found out that one of the plugins installed was the Beautify plugin, and that more boarder textures were available for download. So, I downloaded them. The only problem is that I have no idea how to install them!
Could someone help? I'm running GIMP 2.8.6 on Mac osX 10.6.8.
Hello!
I may not have exactly the same version you are using. I used the macports version (instructions at gimp.org/downloads) and have 2.8.10 installed. Hopefully this will work for you.
Extract the contents of the texture-border-textures-0.5.1.tar.bz or rip-border-textures-0.5.1.tar.bz to:
/Users/$YourAccount/Library/Application Support/GIMP/2.8/
Where $YourAccount is your username, like joeuser.
When the jpgs are extracted they will be, in the case of border textures, here:
/Users/joeuser/Library/Application Support/GIMP/2.8/texture-border
With sub directories like:
art
cloth
grid
other
paper
texture
wall
I was baffled as well (new mac user)... but after thrashing my hard drive found where it was hidden.
