WRFDA Version 3.6.1: UPDATES

WRFDA Version 3.6.1 was released on August 14, 2014.

This is primarily a bug-fix release.
Updated features:

The bugs listed at the Known Problems page have been fixed. These bugs include the following:

Several bugs which can cause compilation failure on certain platforms

Warnings and/or errors when assimilating PREPBUFR data with missing observation values

Errors when using RTTOV to assimilate radiances in 4DVAR

Problems reading some LITTLE_R files in OBSPROC

Bugs in the new SEVIRI radiance assimilation capability

Other code improvements include:

WRFDA's FGAT ability has been updated; previously it produced incorrect results

More descriptive and helpful error messages for some errors

Improvements to OBSPROC: some observations which were incorrectly rejected are now assimilated

Conversion between temperature and virtual temperature has been made consistent for PREPBUFR files

Improved stratospheric base state to be consistent with WRF V3.6

WRFPLUS (WRF adjoint and tangent linear model) has also been updated to V3.6.1.
