Community Information Sessions

Toronto Downtown Jazz (TDJ) is pleased to present semi-occasional Community Information Sessions on a variety of topics relevant to Toronto's local jazz community. Each session is hosted at the TDJ office in Toronto; registration is free.

The first Community Information Session was held November 3, 2011, and featured a discussion about grants available to jazz musicians with Christy DiFelice (Music Officer, Toronto Arts Council), Michael Murray (Popular and World Music Officer, Ontario Arts Council) and Russell Kelley (former Music Section Head, Canada Council for the Arts).

On March 8, 2012, we convened a session on touring, ranging from the basics of organizing a tour to the fine details of tour in the United States. Touring veteran and local jazz musician Richard Underhill, along with Liana White, Director of Administration and Services for AFM (Canada) answered a variety of touring-related questions.
