"A picture of Japan, highlighted Fukushima"

Today morning, a 7.4 earthquake hit the coast of Japan at Fukushima.

A tsunami evacuation warning was also sent out for Fukushima and Miyagi prefectures.

However, the U.S. Geological Survey described the earthquake as only a 6.9, occurring over a lateral quake. Tsunamis only occur on vertical quakes, so everything should be fine. The first “tsunami” was only two feet, and it occurred in Iwaki City at 6:49.

Last time an earthquake hit Fukushima, three of six nuclear reactions in the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station suffered meltdowns.

Today, the No.3 reactor at a sister plant, Fukushima Daini, stopped working.
