Why does the GIMP program reconize the format of the Image It is reconizing and still explain why it doesn't support the image?

If for future explanation, would letting the GIMP program have the processing compleation of both having the power to re-produce the image and to have the self-explanation to elliminate unprocessed images that are not supported by the 2.6.11 GIMP, prove that having "your", images in the GIMP format, explain why only the GIMP can process the "only', picture you have on your computer?

????? English, please?

I could not make any sense out of your post but according to the question's header I'm guessing you can't save images as jpeg, png, bmp, etc? If yes, follow this thread http://registry.gimp.org/node/26632
