Welcome to Computer Newbz: A website intended for those who want to build their own computer
but don't quite know what exactly to do or where to start.
Enter this Website, the goal of the website is to introduce someone unfamiliar with the concepts
to enough technological terminology so they can follow along with the tutor, introduce each component,
provide a brief overview of each component, such as what it does, the different parts and walk someone
through the process of installing the component. Once someone has gone through each component, they should
be able to assemble their very own computer!
Objective of the site
Though, this website isn't only intended for those looking to learn about computer components and/or
to build their first computer. No, the cite is also geared toward those looking to refresh their
knowledge or simply for a reference. The website will cover the basics, and some intermediate, topics of
each component and at the end of each component, have a walkthrough on how to install the component.
The pages are also ordered in a manner that it is recommended that those new to the field follow,
with recommended component order being left to right and recommended topic order being top to bottom in
the drop down menu. Though users are not required to follow this path and can navigate the site in any
order that they may please. After the last component is covered there will be an assembly page that condenses
the installation pages of each component into a single page, with a short comprehensive quiz about the material
the website covered on the last page.
How to navigate the website
The way to navigate the website is straight forward, there will be a navigation bar at the top of every page
on the website. The navbar is how the user gets to any particular page on the website. The navigation bar
also tells the user what page they are on by highlighting the component and topic they are currently on in
a darker color. Like mentioned above the topics in the navbar are listed in the recommended order that those
new to computer assembly should follow, with recommended component order being left to right and recommended
topic order being top to bottom in the drop down menu. If you find yourself at the bottom topic of one component
the top topic of the component to the right is the next recommended page.
Unfortunately, the website isn't able to auto resize itself based on the resolution of the display you are viewing
the site from. If you end up encountering any sort of overlapping of elements, manually resize the page using Ctrl + Scroll
until the overlapping has stopped. Or a good rule of thumb to go by, zoom the page out until all the dropdown menuse
in the navigation bar are all on the same plane, which is how the scale of the website was designed around,
