The DIMM slots are when the RAM connects to the motherboard. Normally found to the right of the CPU socket
a motherboard can have two to four DIMM slots depending on the form factor of the motherboard. The maximum
amount of RAM per slot and the total amount of RAM the motherboard can support is determined by the chipset.
The maximum amount of supported RAM is normally the maximum amount of RAM each slot can handle, times the
number of slots there are. For example if a motherboard has four DIMM slots, and each slot can support
up to 16GB per slot, then the maximum amount of RAM supported by the motherboard is 64GB.
